Curlew Island

Curlew Island is the most southern roosting and feeding site for listed migratory shorebirds in Moreton Bay.  It lies amongst one of the busiest waterways on the Gold Coast. Over recent years, Curlew Island’s native vegetation has been progressively degraded by weeds, meaning less available shorebird roosting habitat. It has recently undergone restoration by Healthy Land and Water with weed removal and native plantings, stabilising and protecting the shorebird roost.
