Deception Bay Claypan

A critical king high tide roost that provides a haven for shorebirds from adjacent roosts on extreme high tides. Vast claypan and saltmarsh with interconnecting roosting areas. Fringed by mangroves on eastern side and housing on the west. North adjoins Burpengary Creek. Birds can be pushed into domestic backyards on extreme high tides. Forms part of the Deception Bay Conservation Park.
