Distribution
Australia: There are five reports for this species with good descriptions, though only one has been accepted. These are all in Victoria. Other reports have been received but discounted.
Migratory habits
Migrates south to southern Peru, Chile, Bolivia, Paraguay, Uruguay and Argentina to Tierra del Fuego.
Breeding
Breeds in southern Canada and western USA west to the Great Lakes.
Status
Vagrant.
